But in the actual Naruto world I pick NaruHina because even though Naruto is totally oblivious to how Hinata feels about him (even though she's outright said she loved him) they share the same desire to become the best regardless of how they started out & how hard they've had to overcome major hurdles.

well you can guess which one I picked just from the pics I use on SPP, lol. I'm all about the sasunaru. I have many reasons and I'm not sure if this is the place to elaborate 
. But other than that, I love Naruto and Hinata. I have always loved Shikamaru and Temari too! And I swear I LMFAO at the Choji x BBQ chips!!! That was good Jus.

Yeah, sorry, I know. lol, well I love yaoi. Sasunaru is my all time fave!! And I just don't want to offend anyone with that. I cannot really understand my obsession with it really. They just seem like they are perfect for each other!! Two wounded souls that are bound together.

I voted "Other", cuz one of the best pairings was Sakura and Sasori's grandmother, Chiyo. Was that fight against Sasori not one of the most awesome in Naruto history?! I mean, Sakura's strength and first-aid nin...and Chiyo's "Ten Puppet Collection"? And Chiyo still destroyed a majority of Sasori's puppets. Oh, and Sakura takes a sword through the gut like-a-CHAMP!

Well, if you noticed some other posts, I'm not a fan of Sakura. In fact, I kinda hate her lolol. Nevertheless, that was an amazing fight though the main character was chiyo. Sakura, didn't do much a thing. Ok, she has medical knowledge but.....

Sorry Gamakichi. I've noticed that some forums have very polarized views of the ladies. As a secondary choice for best pairing I'd have to say Naruto and Hinata. Granted Hinata is a bit timid but she's proven herself in some hairy situations. Plus, if she's fighting along side Naruto she'd probably really step it up...for him of coarse.

Regarding your comment about yaoi. I voted for SasuNaru as well and I'll explain why.

I know what you mean. But I don't see SasuNaru as about them being gay, it's about the bond they share. There is not necessarily has to be a yaoi, it is possible to be in love/want to be with someone of the same sex even if you have never found anyone of the same sex to be sexually attractive. Sasuke is a mystery as far as I've seen he has never shown a romantic/sexual interest in anyone male or female, the closest he's ever been to anyone outside of his family has been Naruto. As for Naruto, he's completely obsessed with Sasuke, in my opinion, more than Sakura. (to be honest due to recent events in Manga he seemed less upset that she'd lied to him about loving him, and more upset that she had given up on Sasuke)
It's not really the yaoi relationship it's more of a certain love because of the closeness and understanding between the characters. Sasuke and Naruto's bond is unique, deep and complex. Naruto is obsessed with Sasuke at the point of fascination. He said it himself that from the start he wanted to be acknowledged by Sasuke more than anyone else, he wanted to become someone in Sasuke's eyes.
Besides, there are these 'moments', in the openings and endings XD And there's that one cute moment in their childhood where they hold hands <3 or the part where Naruto slipped while climbing up the tree and Sasuke cathes him. Sasuke also 'sacrificed' his life for Naruto in Wave country and I don't really see him doing that for just about anyone. And hints such as Orochimaru being afraid that Naruto will 'change Sasuke's heart and mind' and Sasuke remembering what the kiss with Naruto tasted like or the fact that he's just not interested in any girl despite that he will definitely need one to recreate his clan.
On the other hand Naruto when Sasuke 'died in his arms' let the Kyuubi chakra leak out for the first time to avenge Sasuke, and let out the first tail when retrieving him when he left for Orochimaru, and let out 4 tails when Orochimaru talked possesingly about Sasuke. He was beaten for Sasuke, begged for Sasuke, wished on a star for Sasuke. Clutched a pillow thinking of Sasuke. ( lol I’m getting a bit over the board here XD)
Also that battle at the Waterfall, it just seemed so passionate and yet so sweet when Naruto said 'I wonder if that's how it feels to have a brother'. But to tell you the truth already after the Wave Arc with Haku and Zabuza I can't buy 'they are just brothers' argument, there is definitely 'smth going on here'. Like Naruto first thought that that must have been what having a brother felt like but since he doesn't know what having a brother really feels like, he might have confused the labels (and I'm not stating this as a fact, just that it's entirely possible. Like he said that possibly having Iruka is like having a father…haha Iruka is more like a doting mother than a father in my opinion XD - another thing Naruto got wrong..)
Anyway I get the impression the manga hints you that they need each other. It has been said so many times that Naruto is the only person who can save Sasuke. Sasuke needs Naruto to ground him, and Naruto needs Sasuke to drive him. Like Naruto's line about fire and wind 'I have the right affiliation for Sasuke. I mean that wind is the only thing that can keep fire alive and make it stronger'.
However to me (and this is only my opinion) the yaoi relationship between them ruins any kind of bond that the two share together. I’m not for the brotherly relationship but putting them together in a romantic kind of way just ruins the whole emotional bond they share.
I think there *are* a lot of hints but it's up to each person to interpret them as more than friendship or not. After all, I do interpret it as being something between Shikamaru and Temari (as in them liking each other in secret) but there's really nothing to prove that either, it's just an interpretation.
Kakashi/Iruka on the other hand, I don't see any hints of that anywhere? They've met each other like... 3 times and barely spoken to each other? So I think that pairing isn't very plausible... it would be interesting to hear a fan of that pairing explain why they think they might like each other. Aside from the fact that both of them are quite old and don't have any girlfriends. (I do understand where the pairing comes from thou, since Kakashi's and Iruka's seiyu are often paired (is that even a word?) in some yaoi anime lol XD)

I think that Naruto and Hinata would be a good pairing. As a couple I mean. Wonder if their kid would have gray eyes and wiskers?
